With traditional braces, it is best to avoid any foods that are hard or sticky and may potentially break off brackets. Broken brackets will delay treatment time, so we recommend avoiding foods like pizza crusts, gum, sticky candies, caramels, hard candies, suckers, popcorn, soda/pop, or any foods that may potentially break your brackets or cause cavities. A complete list of foods to avoid will be provided for you at the day of your bonding appointment (when the braces go on).

With Invisalign patients, one of the benefits of Invisalign is the ability to not be restricted with the type of foods a patient can eat. However, we recommend speaking to your orthodontist for a specific list if you have questions.
