We are keeping up to date with the current COVID-19 pandemic, and how it is affecting our community in the state of Georgia and our practice at Kragor Orthodontics.
As you are aware, we have always followed strict protocols to keep our patients, the patients’ family members, our doctors, and team members safe. We have always followed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and will continue to do so to protect against blood-borne pathogens and respiratory illnesses. We will continue to do so, along with updated protocols for the recent COVID-19 information.
Due to the recent rise in COVID cases in Georgia, we are requesting help from our patients, family members, and community to continue wearing masks once inside our building. In order to limit the number of persons within our facility we do request to avoid entering the building unless you are a patient. Should you need to be present with your child, we do request that you bring your own mask, and if you do not have a mask available we ask that you continue to wait in your car. We understand that the heat may prevent some from the ability to do so — and we request you speak with one of our team members should you need accommodations. We thank you for your understanding.
Please continue to follow the guidelines below we have implemented during the pandemic until we have more information to change otherwise. We are adopting our guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA), American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), Georgia Board of Dentistry (GBD), Southern Association of Orthodontics (SAO), and Georgia Association of Orthodontics (GAO). We are aware this is a lot of information, and please understand we are also doing our very best to learn and adapt daily, hourly, if not by the minute.
Orthodontics is a specialty practice of dentistry that offers different procedures than general dentistry. Often dentistry utilizes aerosol generating procedures that we use less seldom in our practice and routine care. We are taking the necessary precautionary steps to prevent aerosol generating procedures in our practice including and not limited to:
- Updated PPE including N95 or KN95 masks, face shields, disposable gowns, etc.
- HEPA filtration throughout our practice
- Separate operatories for these procedures away from other patients
- Staggered and limited clinical schedule
- 8+ feet away from other patients within our clinical area once seated
- Glass partitions between patients in our clinical bay
- Scheduled cleanings of high traffic areas including handles, restrooms, counters, etc
- Daily pre-treatment screenings with our patients, family members, team members, and doctors
- Removal of communal items such as coffee bar, water bottles, etc.
- Reduce paper as much as possible throughout the clinic
We are all doing our best to continue to provide the Kragor Orthodontics experience given this pandemic. Please be patient and understanding with these changes, and we hope they will be temporary for the sake of our community and well being of everyone. Should you have any questions or concerns about our changes, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our team members or doctors personally. We are here to help and we hope to continue to provide care for our patients, and friends. Thank you very much. We appreciate your understanding and choosing our practice for your orthodontic needs!
Thank you all for being patient with us during this COVID-19 pandemic. We closed our office temporarily to allow for slowing the spread of the virus as recommended by the CDC, GDA, AAO, and GAO. Currently the restrictions have been lifted and we are working towards opening our office SAFELY. Our goal is to continue care with all of our patients in the safest way possible. We have deep cleaned our office, and will continue to provide OSHA compliant sterilization techniques and proper PPE to keep you all safe and our team safe.
We will be contacting you to begin scheduling appointments. At this time if you are unable to attend your appointment or do not feel comfortable doing so please let one of our team members know so we can best accommodate you. Please be patient during this time as we expect a higher than normal call volume and assure you we will get back to you as soon as possible should we miss your call. You are important to us and we are working around the clock to ensure the best care possible for you!
We will be screening our patients with a questionnaire and a required consent form by our insurance carrier. If you are sick, or have been sick recently, or around those who have been sick, we recommend you reschedule your appointment at this time.
We recommend you wash your hands upon entering the building. We will have and sanitizer stations available for you prior and after your appointment. Our brushing station is currently closed, and we recommend you brush and floss prior to your appointment if possible.
Our waiting room = your car
If possible, please wait for your child in your car. Finally you can catch some alone time (maybe). If you need to speak with one of our doctors or clinicians, please contact us via phone and one of our team members will discuss with you. You may also FaceTime us during the appointment via your child’s cell phone if needed.
We unfortunately cannot supply facemarks at this time. Only one parent allowed per patient in the clinic to reduce the number of bodies in the clinic. Should you not have a facemark, we ask that you remain in your car if possible. If you do not own a facemark, a scarf or covering is acceptable.
We will keep on track
Our goal is to ensure that your orthodontic progress continues on time and on track. We will be extending our hours and adding additional clinic time to ensure our patients are receiving the care needed to address any downtime from this pandemic. Contact us should you have any questions.
We are digital
Should you need to contact one of our doctors, but don’t feel comfortable coming in. Please call our office and schedule a virtual appointment. One of our doctors will reach out to you and answer any questions or concerns you may have virtually if you are uncomfortable attending your appointment.
